INTRODUCTION
Knowledge of human papillomavirus (HPV) and HPV vaccine, which is a critical antecedent of HPV vaccine uptake for all genders,1, 2 varies by race and ethnicity.3. However, existing literature either excludes Asian Americans or aggregates all Asian origin groups under a single category. This approach overlooks the heterogeneity of Asian Americans—people from > 30 countries speaking numerous languages, with diverse immigration histories, cultural practices, and patterns of health services utilization.4 Data aggregation can mask important disparities in HPV awareness and knowledge among different origin groups.
